At Least 4000 People Have Purchased Super Mario Odyssey In China Since Its Launch

Have you ever wondered how many people purchased the official Tencent version of Super Mario Odyssey in China? Well, not much.

Ever since Super Mario Odyssey launched digitally in China in March 2020 and physically in April 2020, about 4300 players submitted their high scores for the game’s skipping rope challenge. That would mean that the number of people who own the Tencent version of Super Mario Odyssey is at least 4300.

This obviously doesn’t bode well for Tencent, as a game like Super Mario Odyssey shouldn’t have merely sold a few thousand copies in China.

In addition, the Tencent version of Super Mario Odyssey has been censored as well – instead of “64” (in reference to the Nintendo 64 console), the term “N64” is used for various in-game costumes:
