Since the release of Nintendo Switch, Bethesda has been extremely supportive by bringing many titles such as Skyrim and Wolfenstein II to the platform whenever they can.
One of Bethesda’s upcoming titles, Rage 2, has not been announced for Nintendo Switch. The developers of Rage 2 aren’t sure whether the game will work on Nintendo Switch because they haven’t performed any testing yet, but as long as the game is able to retain its experience, Bethesda will bring it to the Switch.
Here’s id Software Studio Director Tim Willits’ full comments:
“We’ve talked about it, but it’s a completely different engine and tech. The nice thing about Doom, Wolf, and Doom Eternal is it all uses id Tech, Rage 2 uses Avalanche‘s engine, so it’s a different beast in terms of a seamless open world that you can play like that. We’ve talked about it some. Still uncertain whether that could ever work on the Switch.
We want as many people to be able to play our games as possible. A lot of time and a lot of effort go into making these games. So if bringing it to another platform allows more people to play it, great. So far the reception has been good, people really like the games, so we’re gonna keep doing it.”
