Blade Arcus Rebellion From Shining Switch Box Art Reveals More Of Pairon, PS4 Cover Seemingly Censored

SEGA’s Blade Arcus Rebellion From Shining bears a striking difference between its Switch and PS4 physical releases, it seems.

Over on Twitter, WHOLESOME TSUNDERELF (@XanderStabbity) posted an image of the game’s Switch and PS4 retail copies showing the stark difference between the two box art covers.

While the Switch version shows Pairon in all her glory, the PS4 version appears to have been cropped. As shown on the PS4 cover, Pairon’s lower half – legs, thighs, and buttocks included – has been cut. It’s hard to say if SEGA intended it to be that way but with the recent increase in video game censorship policies in Japan where Japanese PS4 games were reportedly experiencing heavier censorship for sexual content compared to Nintendo Switch, we could surmise otherwise.

However, that being said, the PS4 version isn’t entirely censored as it includes a reverse cover art showing a full image of Pairon, as shared by another Twitter user who purchased the game.

Meanwhile, we could recall a similar case with NISA’s SNK 40th Anniversary Collection wherein the PS4 cover features Athena donning her armor while the Switch cover shows Athena in her bikini. Read more about it here.

The 2D fighting game Blade Arcus Rebellion From Shining launched in March 14, 2019. However, the game has only seen a release in Japan, without any word of an international release yet.
