Upset that Capcom hasn’t been doing much with its wide variety of videogame franchises like Dino Crisis and Power Stone? Well, things might hopefully change for the better in the company’s future!
In its latest investor report, Capcom outlined some interest points about its growth strategy moving forward. While it noted that blockbuster releases like Resident Evil 2 and Monster Hunter World were its biggest strengths during 2019, it also saw the revival of other franchises (e.g. Devil May Cry 5) as one of the pillars it could build on as well.
With that in mind, the company stated that one of its goals would be to ‘awaken dormant intellectual properties’ and promote them once again. You can check out some specific mentions of this below:

“Our initiatives are to (1) strengthen digital sales, (2) bolster our title lineup through the full-scale execution of our 60-month and 52-week maps and (3) awaken dormant intellectual properties.”

Of course, it’s hard to tell which ‘dormant franchises’ Capcom has in mind here. Nevertheless, things might get exciting for die-hard Capcom fans in the coming years!
