Have you been a longtime supporter of the Mega Man Battle Network series on Game Boy Advance? With the series turning 20 years old in 2021, it looks like Capcom is finally preparing something a little special for such fans!
According to Capcom’s licensing webpage, the company is now seeking partners to help produce merchandise/events for the series’ 20th anniversary. Usually, this signals that the company wants to celebrate the occasion under some sort of official banner or branding.
What’s interesting, however, is that Capcom sent out a similar recruitment call for Mega Man X’s 25th anniversary in 2016. That previous event saw the release of various goods and figures, and eventually culminated in the launch of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 in 2018.
Of course, this isn’t exactly an indication that Mega Man Battle Network will enjoy the same level of love from Capcom. With many fans clamoring for the series to get its own Legacy Collection compilation, however – all we can hope is that Capcom is listening intently as they make their preparations!
We’ll report back as we hear more in the future. Stay tuned!
