Following the Shining Resonance Refrain Asian English version fiasco, another huge incident occurred in Hong Kong this week.
On July 19, Nintendo Hong Kong offered the digital version of Shining Resonance Refrain through their official website that sells digital eShop codes. There was, however, a big problem – upon redeeming the game, users discovered they could only play it in Korean.
Thankfully, employees at Nintendo Hong Kong were quick to discover the mistake, and quickly ratified the situation by distributing the correct Chinese version. They’ve also offered the new digital codes to customers who’ve received the Korean version, but request that they provide their Switch’s serial number. The Korean version will be deleted from the Switch after the Chinese version is redeemed.
