A couple of months ago, the official My Nintendo Store opened pre-orders for exclusive Splatoon Squid iPhone 8/7/6s/6 cases in Japan. These cases were made-to-order and available in Green, Pink, and Black.
This week, for the purpose of a giveaway we held on Facebook and Twitter (sorry, it has ended!), we’ve received these lovely iPhone cases. So here’s some things you may not know about them.
First, here’s a look at all three colors lined up on a table.
Second, it appears that the cases were made by Japanese smartphone accessory company Gourmandise. This company is well known for manufacturing high quality (and expensive) smartphone cases.
The back of the packaging states the smartphone case is meant to be used by users 15 years and above, and the case doesn’t have the ability of fully protecting the phone from drops. There’s also a My Nintendo logo and descriptions of the phone written in Inkling language (which we unfortunately couldn’t translate).
Last but not least, these smartphone cover packaging are waaaaaaay bigger than they look. We’ve placed an ordinary iPhone 6 cover for comparison’s sake.
