Command This Pikachu Robot To Turn On The TV And Switch Channels

Takara Tomy has announced a new talking Pikachu robot called UchiPika in Japan.

The UchiPika is slightly different from 2018’s HelloPika robot. The biggest advantage of UchiPika is the ability to use it as a TV remote. As the UchiPika contains the same technology as a TV remote, you could command the Pikachu robot to turn on the TV, turn off the TV, change channels, and adjust the volume by using your voice. No smartphone or Internet required!

Besides that, the UchiPika could be connected to lamps and LED light which have an infrared receiver, so you can command the UchiPika robot to turn on or turn off the lights.

There are many other features, such as asking UchiPika to sing a song, greeting it, and having its face shake and cheeks light up:

As you could probably imagine this has become a very hot selling product on Amazon Japan before it’s even released.

A video of it in action:

UchiPika launches August 3, 2019 in Japan. Pre-order here from Amazon Japan (ships worldwide).
