Months ago, we reported on retail listings for an uncanny-looking Sonic costume for kids – inspired by Sonic’s early (and controversial) CGI movie design. With Halloween fast approaching, it looks like that eerie costume is finally rearing its ugly head in the wild!
According to Instagram user treasurehuntingsonic, the full-body Sonic costume is now popping up at Walmart stores for $19.97 USD. The packaging even features the same exact kid as the retail listings from before – smiling awkwardly as he dons the blue atrocity.
You can check it out in full below, if you dare.
Hopefully, Sonic himself won’t look as bizarre as this costume when his movie finally premieres next year. After all, the movie’s creators are now working hard to re-design Sonic – with one staff even commenting that his new movie look will be 70% better than the horror everyone witness in the movie’s first trailer. We can only hope so.
What do you think? Will you be buying this costume for your kids, or as a prank gift? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
