Earlier this year, The Pokemon Company announced The Crown Tundra Expansion for Pokemon Sword And Shield, which will allow players to catch a number of past Legendary Pokemon in the game, including the Order Pokemon Zygarde.
In Pokemon Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon, Zygarde was given access to new forms (10% form, Complete form) and a new ability (Power Construct) based on how many Zygarde cells players collected over the course of the game.
Since Zygarde cells are not currently present in Pokemon Sword and Shield, some may have been wondering how new players would be able to access these unique features when it returns to the game for the Crown Tundra.
Recently, dataminer Mattyoukhana uncovered the answer to this question. As he shared on Twitter, the Zygarde Cube item from the previous games will be given a new function to allow Zygarde to switch between different forms at will, and even change its ability.
You can check out how it works below:
One of the more interesting implications of this is that players who own the Shiny Zygarde that was distributed in 2018 will now be able to change its form and ability with ease, without having to mess with the form changing mechanic in Pokemon Sun/Moon or Ultra Sun/Moon.
This is of course assuming that the Zygarde Cube will indeed be obtainable somehow in the Crown Tundra. We will be sure to bring more details as they come.
