Motion Twin will be rolling out out the much-awaited major free update for the hit Switch indie game – Dead Cells!
On the Switch News Channel, Motion Twin announced that the Rise of the Giant free update will release on May 23. But that’s not all, there will also be a patch coming in the next month or so.
In addition, the team has shared that more content updates are planned for the rest of the year and details will be revealed later.
Here’s the announcement:
Rise of the Giant FREE DLC to be released on the 23rd of May!
Hey all!
Today we’re super excited to announce that we’re almost ready to release our first FREE DLC, Rise of the Giant, to Nintendo Switch users! It will be going live on the eShop on May 23rd at 9AM local time wherever you are.
Now what’s in it anyway?
We’ve a new biome and a new boss for you to take on, as well as a bunch of new monsters, new weapons and new challenges. This update brings a bunch of much needed balancing fixes, making certain weapons (cough spartan cough scandals cough cough) a lot more fun to play!
There’s also an entirely new level of difficulty for the most talented players, with a bunch of hidden content up in there.
What’s next?
We’ll be bringing the patch for this patch… That’s right, patchception, to the Switch as soon as possible. We’re testing it now and should submit to certification in the next month or so.
We’ve got a couple of new content updates planned for the rest of the year… So stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
