Dengeki Online has released their latest Japanese video game sales data for the period between April 30, 2018 and May 6.
Similar to what Media Create had reported this week, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Nintendo Switch debuted first place on the sales charts, moving 92,228 copies at launch. Dengeki Online added that the game has sold around 65% of its initial shipment at launch.
Dengeki Online has also reported the game had a very good start. As the Wii U version sold 36,000 copies at launch in 2014, Donkey Kong’s debut on Switch has sold nearly 3 times more than the initial Wii U release.
Lastly, as lifetime sales for the Wii U version currently stand at 122,000 copies, there’s a high probability the Switch version will outsell the Wii U version within a few weeks.
