Dotemu Apologizes For Streets Of Rage 4 DLC Delay On Switch
Publisher Dotemu has shared an update regarding the unfortunate delay of Streets Of Rage 4‘s “Mr. X Nightmare” DLC for Switch.
To recap, the “Mr. X Nightmare” DLC was originally planned to release on July 15th for Switch, but was not available for players to purchase on the release day due to a “technical issue”. This was the only platform that was affected, and Dotemu shared a statement on Twitter acknowledging and apologizing for the issue:
🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🚨
We are aware of a technical issue affecting Nintendo Switch players from being able to purchase the #SOR4 DLC. We are all hands on deck to remedy this issue for fans and will be posting updates on the ETA for when we anticipate the fix to be live.1/3

For media outlets or content creators already in possession of a game code: please note that you will be able to play the game without this issue affecting gameplay. 3/3

Since then, Dotemu has posted an update on the situation to Twitter, confirming that it may take some time before the DLC will be available to purchase on Switch again. According to the Tweet, it seems the delay is related to getting the DLC reviewed and approved before it can be put on the eshop.
To be honest with you, we're devastated and we did everything we could to get the DLC launched before the weekend.
We have absolutely no decision power nor control over the validation process. We cannot bypass this step so there's nothing else we can do but wait with you guys. pic.twitter.com/JyaS2aPID1
