In the last few days, the media has been talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, who was accused of raping a woman in Las Vegas in 2009.

Although the allegations have not been confirmed, EA, the developer of the FIFA games, is closely monitoring the situation. Cristiano Ronaldo has been the cover athlete of FIFA 18 and FIFA 19, so if the rumors turn out to be true, they will terminate their contract with Ronaldo as his appearance on the cover will severely damage the brand.

Here’s what Ronaldo has to say about the rape allegations:

I firmly reject the accusations against me … Rape is an abominable crime that threatens everything I am and what I believe.

As clear as it may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media show created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense.

My clean conscience will allow me to wait calmly for the results of each and every investigation.
