Early Pokemon Red And Blue Title Screens, Prototype Sprites, And Identify Of MissingNo. Revealed

Helix Chamber, a site dedicated to video game history, has published a comprehensive article revealing prototype art assets for Pokemon Red and Blue.

As the report is pretty lengthy, we will focus on a few key points. First, here are the early title screens for the game. As you can see, Capsule Monsters was initially considered as a name for Pokemon in the west:

Later it changed to Pocket Monsters, and the rest is history:

Who’s MissingNo.? The mystery has finally been solved – they are the following sprites created during the prototyping process of Pokemon Red and Blue.

There are only three MissingNo. left, after figuring out the real identities of the other MissingNo.:
