Devolver Digital, the publisher of GRIS, was planning to advertise their game on Facebook but their trailer was rejected because it is “sexualized content”.
According to Devolver Digital’s Stephanie Tinsley, the following image below, which shows no nudity and is a statue, was the reason why Facebook stopped the company from going ahead with their advertisement. Their appeal was also rejected.
Here’s what Tinsley has to say:
“This is really stupid. We appealed and [Facebook] said the appeal was rejected based on the grounds that Facebook does not allow nudity. First of all, she’s a statue and second, absolutely no nudity is shown in that photo, nor is this what any reasonable person would consider ‘sexualized content.’”
