During the pre-release of Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, Pokemon fans were introduced to Professor Sada and Professor Turo, the first ever version exclusive Pokemon Professors to be introduced in the mainline games. Both characters went on to become popular subjects of fan-art and memes, and their role in the game’s story is seen by many as among its main highlights.
As it turns out, fans have none other than former Gamefreak employee and Pokemon Sword And Shield‘s art director James Turner to thank for these designs. Turner revealed on Twitter that he designed both Sada and Turo for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, including one of his own drawings of the pair:
Indeed, Turner is credited as both a Pokemon designer and human character designer in Pokemon Scarlet And Violet‘s credits, with Twitter user @El_Aleph87 nothing that this is the first time he has designed human characters for the games. That said, it is not known which of the game’s numerous new Pokemon Turner might have had a hand in designing.
