The Pokemon Company has announced the global release date for the Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Expansion for the Trading Card Game (TCG).
The expansion will launch first in Japan on January 20th 2022, followed by the worldwide release on March 31st 2022. As you may expect, it will include cards based on the new Paldean Pokemon, as well as introduce the Terastal mechanic to the game. Pokemon-ex cards will also make a return in this expansion.
Aside from this, another major change is that the design of the cards for the global release will be changed to match the Japanese release, doing away with the classic yellow borders in favor of the silver borders used in the franchise’s home region. Cards will also feature expansion codes instead of expansion logos to denote their origins. Finally, the price of the cards will be increased slightly due to inflation.
