During Nintendo’s Q&A session for the 6 months ending September 30, 2019, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa answered questions on the progress of the Nintendo Switch’s official launch in mainland China.
As you probably might already know, Nintendo is working with Chinese conglomerate Tencent to release the Switch in China. Furukawa says that both companies are currently working on multiple processes simultaneously to get things ready for launch. For instance, Tencent is getting approvals for first party software from the Chinese authorities, plus many other things that require approvals as the Chinese authorities are very strict.
As such, Furukawa says he’s unable to announce anything specific to the Nintendo Switch launch in China. He also reiterated announcements regarding the console’s launch in China will be made by Tencent.
