Guide: All In-Game Trades For Original Forms Of Galarian Forms In Pokemon Sword/Shield

Although Pokemon Sword And Shield introduce a number of interesting new regional variants for old Pokemon, some players may prefer using the original versions of those Pokemon in their playthrough.

Luckily, Pokemon Sword And Shield offers some in-game trades which allow you to obtain the original versions of a few of the new Galarian forms. Below you will find details of where to find these trades and which Pokemon you will need to conduct them.

• Kantonian Meowth
  • Grass-Type Gym, small child next to the carpet.
  • Will request a Galarian Meowth.
• Unovan Yamask
  • Fairy-Type Gym, Poke-kid in the corner.
  • Will request a Galarian Yamask.
• Kantonian Mr.Mime
  • Dark-Type Gym (Spikemuth), Team Yell Member behind a booth.
  • Will request an Obstagoon.

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a way to legitimately obtain the original versions of the other Galarian forms in the game (e.g. Ponyta, Weezing) as of this writing. Presumably, players who want to use those Pokemon will have to wait until Pokemon HOME is released for transfer.
