Guide: How To Catch Pokemon Scarlet/Violet’s Hidden Returning Mythical Pokemon

Following the release of Pokemon Scarlet And Violet‘s Indigo Disk DLC, fans have discovered an encounter for a returning Mythical Pokemon that was previously event exclusive.

An encounter for this Mythical Pokemon was initially found in the DLC’s code, but the details of how to find and capture it were only recently worked out by players. This Pokemon was previously only available as part of Mystery Gift distributions, making this a rare opportunity for players who missed them to add this Pokemon to their team.

For the full details, read past the Spoiler Warning below:

The Mythical Pokemon is Meloetta, the Melody Pokemon who made its debut in Pokemon Black/White. To find it in the Indigo Disk, players will need to follow these steps:

  1. Fly to the Outdoor Classroom in the Coastal Biome
  2. Travel slightly East to a swirling patch of leaves (See This Video)
  3. While standing in the leaves, spin your left control stick clockwise rapidly, until you are twirling around on the spot.
  4. After doing this, press the down button on left joycon (or D-Pad) to bring out your camera app. Press the right button to switch to the Sepia filter.
  5. If you followed the steps correctly, you will see Meloetta appear on your camera and start singing a song. Exit out of the camera app, and you will be able to battle it.
