If you’re using a public Wi-Fi network to connect your Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet, you might have faced difficulties in accessing the Wi-Fi network due to its captive (authentication) page.
Thankfully, a workaround has been found, and you’ll need a smartphone or computer to use it. Here’s what you need to do:
Scroll down to Internet
Select Internet Settings
Select the name of the public Wi-Fi network that you wish to access and press “Connect to this network”
The console will attempt to connect to the public Wi-Fi network’s captive (authentication) page, but it will fail and result in a 404 “not found” error. Press the + button (Information) and it will display a long URL address of the page it was trying to access
Copy the long URL address of the captive (authentication) page and enter it on your smartphone or computer’s web browser. Alternatively, you can take a photo of the URL on your smartphone and copy and paste it from the image (this may only work on newer smartphones)
Once you’ve accessed the URL on your smartphone or computer, you will be asked to authenticate or accept the terms and conditions. After you’ve authenticated and/or accepted the terms, your Nintendo Switch 2 will reattempt to connect again, and it will successfully connect to the public Wi-Fi network
