Earlier this week, SEGA revealed they would be releasing a down-sized physical version of Sonic Mania – without all its extra ‘Plus’ contents. If you’ve been wondering whether this release is worth diving into, you can now take a closer look at what it will offer.
Thanks to @JPSWITCHMANIA, we now have some pictures of the physical package in-hand. As SEGA promised, it lacks the ‘Plus’ moniker on both the cover and spine – with zero mention of Mighty and Ray on the back either. Also, @JPSWITCHMANIA notes that this version of the game does not have a reversible cover – unlike the beautiful SEGA Genesis one from the the Sonic Mania Plus physical release.
Nevertheless, we can imagine that some hardcore collectors would want the unique cover sleeve here. Otherwise, it’s hard to tell why SEGA would offer a downsized package like this in the first place.
