The Pokemon Company and Japanese company Kenkosansai have teamed up to make Pokemon Osechi for 2020.
At the beginning of every new year, the Japanese eat Osechi, food which are stored in special bento boxes. As it’s considered taboo to cook during the first 3 days of the new year, Osechi are prepared in advance. Dishes in the Osechi bento boxes have special symbolic meaning.
2020’s Pokemon Osechi come in a Poke Ball storage container with two layers of food such as prawns, roe, mochi, egg rolls, and pastries:
Also included with the Osechi are two small plates featuring Pikachu and Eevee, and two pairs of chopsticks:
