Digital Foundry has put out some results from their tests of first-party Nintendo Switch games with free updates on Nintendo Switch 2.
The tests show massive graphical improvements for these games in TV mode, with the biggest improvement coming from the Bowser’s Fury game mode in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury – the game jumped from 720p on Switch to 1656p – 1800p on Switch 2.
Here’s a list showing how these games perform in Switch 2’s TV mode:
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: 1620p (Switch: 720p to 900p)
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: 1620p (Switch: 720p to 900p)
Super Mario Odyssey: Mostly 1800p (Switch: 720p to 900p)
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury: 1800p (Switch: 720p to 1080p) for Super Mario 3D World / 1656p to 1800p (Switch: 720p) for Bowser’s Fury
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker: 1440p (Switch: 1080p)
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: 2160p (Switch: 1080p)
Splatoon 3: Mostly 2160p (Switch: 720p to 1080p)
Keep in mind that the Switch 2 can display games at up to 1080p in Handheld mode, so these games are mostly displayed in 1080p when playing in Handheld mode.
