During BitSummit Roadshow Tokyo, Source Gaming interviewed Castlevania and Bloodstained series creator Koji Igarashi.
Igarashi was asked how he felt about Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Both characters are from the Castlevania series, which Igarashi worked on when he was still at Konami. He said Masahiro Sakurai should have done this when he was still at Konami, and that’s his only complaint.
When asked whether he was consulted on the Belmont duo’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Igarashi replied that he wasn’t asked at all. Despite this, he’s looking forward to play as both characters and test out the Castlevania stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
