Last month, retailers carrying video game products across Japan started pre-order lotteries for Nintendo Switch 2.
If you were wondering whether you have a higher chance of securing a Nintendo Switch 2 at a brick-and-mortar store, the answer seems to be unfortunately, no.
According to a Japanese retailer’s pre-order lottery results, the success rate was a mere 14%, lower than My Nintendo Store Japan’s 25% success rate.
This is despite the fact that Nintendo is preparing a launch shipment that’s larger than the Nintendo Switch. While demand is expected to be high for the foreseeable future, retailers will continue to carry out pre-order lotteries ahead of the Switch 2’s launch on June 5.
