After Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version launched on Nintendo Switch, many Youtubers and Nintendo Switch gamers complained how they were able to barely play the game.
American Youtuber Spawn Wave tried out the game and encountered poor and choppy frame rate. The overall experience was horrible. A warning message written in Japanese appeared on the top left corner of the screen, informing him the game would soon end as the connection wasn’t stable enough to provide a pleasant experience.
A gamer living in Japan didn’t encounter the issues Spawn Wave faced. The game ran much more smoothly for him.
It’s safe to say as Capcom’s cloud servers are located in Japan (and Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version was released only for the Japanese market), the location of the player has a huge effect on the experience of the game. So if Capcom plans to release Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version for the west, they’d certainly set up servers in North America and Europe to provide a better experience.
