Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, the latest Wii U game ported to Nintendo Switch, has seen impressive sales on launch week in Japan
According to Media Create data, the Wii U version sold 35,717 units at launch in 2014. This month, the Switch version debuted at 88,421 copies sold, more than double the Wii U version.
With such success, it’s easy to tell why Nintendo continues to port more Wii U games to Nintendo Switch. The next game to receive the port over treatment is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
