Joshin, an electronics retailer in Japan, has taken a unique approach to selling the latest high end televisions in Japan.
On the front cover of a Joshin marketing brochure, we see multiple deals for 4K TVs that run between USD100 to USD2000. The thing that’s making these TVs stand out is not the price, but the fact that all of them have Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee screenshots:
Besides the TVs, there’s a small section at the bottom of the brochure letting customers know they can purchase a Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee, and other Nintendo Switch games. Also highlight is Meltan and Melmetal, which could be obtained by transferring a Mystery Box from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Let’s GO.
Given that Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee are one of the bestselling Switch titles at launch, it is indeed smart to use it to push sales for other products.
