Media Create has released their Japanese video game sales data for June 18 to June 24, 2018.
Mario Tennis Aces, this month’s biggest Nintendo Switch release, debuted at 123,774 copies, making it the bestselling video game in Japan last week.
Minecraft, which was released at retail for Nintendo Switch for the first time last week, moved 61,764 units and was the 3rd bestselling game in Japan.
The incredible performance of Nintendo Switch titles were further bolstered by the sales of evergreen titles Splatoon 2 (14,747 copies, 4th place), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (10,296 copies, 5th place), and Kirby Star Allies (6,720 copies, 6th place).
Unfortunately, despite the strong performance of Mario Tennis Aces and Minecraft, Nintendo Switch hardware sales did not see any visible increase, moving 48,944 units last week. It’s still the bestselling video game hardware in Japan at 62.1%.
