Japan: My Nintendo Store No Longer Accepts Foreign Credit Cards

Here’s a piece of bad news for those of you purchasing products from the official Japanese My Nintendo Store.

As of today, My Nintendo Store is no longer accepting foreign credit cards and debit cards. The change appeared to have kicked in when Nintendo updated their payment systems in May 2018. Besides games, My Nintendo Store offers a huge variety of exclusive products not found anywhere outside Japan.

This also applies to the official Nintendo website, where customers can purchase digital Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles via their smartphone or PC.
