Earlier this month, Japanese retailer GEO warned customers that the dreaded Nintendo Switch shortage is about to return this holiday season, all thanks to Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Today, we are observing early signs of the shortage slowly creeping into Japan. At the time of writing, regular Neon Blue/Neon Red and Gray Nintendo Switch sets have ran out online at medium/large size retailers Tsutaya, Yamada Denki, and Nojima Online.
Although stock appears to be still plenty on Amazon Japan and Yodobashi Camera, things may quickly change as we approach the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We’ll keep a lookout at how things go.
