Media Create has just released last week’s sales figures for the video game market in Japan.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which launched on December 1, sold a total of 97,732 copies during its first three days on the market. It debuted on the second place of the software charts. This is the best performance the series has ever seen.
Meanwhile Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon continue its sales momentum, moving a total of 107,657 copies in Japan last week. Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2, both long tail software, sold 61,596 and 36,246 copies respectively.
Kirby Battle Royale launched on Nintendo 3DS last week in Japan too, debuting at 28,023 copies.
As for the hardware side of things, 62% of all video game hardware sold in Japan were Nintendo Switch consoles. 124,770 systems were moved. The New Nintendo 2DS LL and New Nintendo 3DS LL sold 20,712 and 12,431 units respectively.
