Following the discovery of the Kirby March singer singing the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Lifelight, we’ve encountered another huge Kirby reference in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: World of Light adventure mode.
NintendoSoup reader Bya Kuya pointed out to us that the Japanese title of World Of Light, 火灯の星 (Tomoshibi no Hoshi), could be reversed to be read as Hoshi no Kabi. While the meanings aren’t the same, it sounds like Hoshi no Kaabii (星のカービィ), the official title of the Kirby series in Japanese.
These Kirby references should be no surprise as Kirby is the sole survivor of the “massacre” in the beginning of World of Light. But now we speculate that Kirby’s role in World of Light could be larger than we thought.
