Kagawa Passes Law Restricting Video Game Playtime To 1 Hour A Day

The Kagawa prefecture government has successfully passed the video game playtime restriction law.

The law states that all Kagawa prefecture residents under age 18 will be allowed to play video games for a maximum of 1 hour on weekdays, and 90 minutes on weekends. Households will be responsible for enforcing this rule, so this is more of a ‘rough guide’ than anything else.

Parents have also been asked to stop their junior high school age or younger children from using their smartphones after 9pm, and those who are of high school age after 10pm.
