Kagawa Residents Overwhelmingly Approve Video Game Play Time Restriction Law By 9 To 1

Earlier this year, Kagawa prefecture lawmakers in Japan have been mulling over a law that would restrict the time children could play video games each day to 60 minutes on weekdays.

As part of the consultation process, residents of Kagawa prefecture were asked to give their feedback on the proposed law through email, letters, and fax.

After collecting feedback from Kagawa residents, the prefecture government found that 2,269 residents had no objections of the proposed law, 334 are against, and 12 hold other opinions. This means residents approve the law by an overwhelming 9 to 1 ratio.

Given the positive feedback received, the video game restriction law will most likely be passed in Kagawa prefecture when lawmakers meet in the next few months.
