Famitsu has published the latest Japanese game software sales figures for the week ending in March 27th, giving us our first look at just how well Kirby And The Forgotten Land sold in Japan.
During its first week on store shelves, Kirby And The Forgotten Land sold 380,000 copies, topping the Japanese charts for the week by beating out Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokemon Legends Arceus. According to Japanese game sale data site Game Data Library, this figure means that Forgotten Land is now the biggest launch in the history of the Kirby franchise in Japan, as well as the second highest selling videogame in the country in 2022 so far, just behind Pokemon Legends Arceus.
It should be noted that the game’s sales are likely quite a fair bit higher, since Famitsu’s data does not include digital sales. We will be sure to report back with more updates as they come.
