To celebrate the release of Warriors Orochi 4, Miketendo64 spoke to Koei Tecmo’s Warriors Orochi 4 producer Masaki Furusawa to discuss about the game and Warriors franchise.
First, Furusawa revealed there were initially plans to include a Nintendo character in Warriors Orochi 4, but the development team decided not to go ahead with the plan. Furusawa explains as they’ve focused too much on characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, it would be “disrespectful” to fans if there was only one Nintendo character.
Furusawa then spoke about what he thought would mesh well with the Warriors franchise in a crossover game. Past crossovers include Fire Emblem Warriors and Hyrule Warriors. He personally feels that Xenoblade Warriors and Ys Warriors are feasible as the characters have “a strong impact”.
