Lady Layton Katrielle Will Star In Upcoming Anime And Manga

A new anime series featuring Katrielle called Layton Mystery Agency ~Katrielle’s Mystery Files~ has been announced in Japan.

Layton Mystery Agency will feature Professor Layton’s daughter Katrielle. The famous Professor Layton will not be making an appearance in the anime as he has gone missing. Layton Mystery Agency is set to debut in Japan sometime in April 2018 and will last till October, given that it has 26 episodes with one airing every week. No details have been released on the anime’s localization yet.

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino will serve as Creative Director of the anime, similar to other Level-5 anime adaptions. Anime production will be handled by Liden Films, while Susumu Mitsunaka (Haikyu!! director) will direct the anime. Kana Hanazawa will voice Katrielle while Yoko Takada is in charge of designing characters for the anime.

It’s unclear whether the anime will have an original story, follow the events that happened in Layton’s Mystery Journey, or the upcoming Layton game launching in 2018.

From Spring 2018, a Lady Layton manga will begin in Cioa magazine, and Takara Tomy has plans to release some toys featuring Katrielle.
