GEO, one of the largest retailers in Japan, has made a shocking proclamation on the Nintendo Switch.
The company has put up notices at hundreds of stores across Japan, informing customers that due to the rapid release of popular titles such as Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate , they are expecting the Nintendo Switch hardware to be in shortage very soon.
Here’s the notice:
The word “shortage” is not something anyone wants to hear in Japan. It brings back painful memories of thousands of people lining up to enter a lottery to buy a Switch. We’ll have to wait and see whether those dark days are going to return.
