Previously, Limited Run Games announced that they were producing 1,500 functioning NES cartridges of the ‘GALF’ mini-game from Golf Story.
Unsurprisingly, the retro product ran out of stock almost immediately after preorders went at 10am ET yesterday. Whether due to scalpers or die-hard collectors, it seems like Limited Run Games severely underestimated demand on the ground.
Today, the company tweeted out an apology to customers that missed out on purchasing the old-school jewel. They also opened a waiting list in case any stock can be freed up in the future.
Unfortunately, even experienced professionals can fail to gauge their customers sometimes. Let’s hope that Limited Run Games can use this incident to better serve its loyal fans next round.
