As reported previously, The Pokemon Company has been working on many initiatives to boost tourism across Japan – be it through installing various manhole covers with special Pokemon themes or even setting up special disaster-response vending machines. Well, residents and visitors to Miyagi Prefecture will soon be able to relax with the cool Lapras too!

The Pokemon Company has announced that it will be opening an official Lapras Cafe in Miyagi Prefecture, in partnership with CROSS B PLUS. The venue will serve special dishes themed after Lapras, along with other dishes themed after guest pokemon like Geodude and Chansey.

This special cafe will only be opened from 17 December 2021 to 16 January 2022, with limited reservations available. Here are more details below (translation courtesy of pocketmonster.net):

December 17, 2021 (Fri.) to January 16, 2022 (Sun.)
Closed on December 29 (Wed) to January 3 (Mon)

Opening hours: 10:00 – 17:00
(After 18:00, dinner will be served as usual.)

Reservations begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 6 (reservations accepted up to 3 days prior to each day)

Notes:

• Depending on the infection status of COVID, the start date may be postponed or the project may be suspended without notice.
• The café will be open for 80 minutes on a first-come-first-served basis.
• If there are seats available, we will be able to provide seats on the day.
• No advance reservation is required for take-out, but it may take some time before it is served.
• Reservations can be made for up to 4 people per time slot per application.
• For more than 5 people, you will need to make an additional reservation.
