Minecraft Steve’s Codename In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Was “Pickel”

After the release of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version 9.0.0 update, we can now finally tell what Minecraft Steve’s codename was during development.

According to PushDustin, the codename for Steve used during development was “Pickel”. For comparison’s sake, Byleth’s codename was “Master” (referring to his teaching position), while Min Min’s was “Tantan” (referring to a type of ramen noodles).

It is speculated that Steve’s codename is a corruption of the word “Pickaxe” or perhaps a reference to the Japanese or German word for the tool. If so, this would be a fitting codename considering the importance of the Pickaxe in both mining and crafting.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
