Two years ago, Sony Pictures had announced that a live-action Monster Hunter movie starring Milla Jovovich would premiere in September 2020. Unfortunately, it looks like fans of the franchise will have to wait quite a bit longer before they can set their eyes on the film.
Various industry reports have revealed that the film will now be screening on 23 April 2021 instead. Sony Pictures and Screen Gems did not share a reason for the delay – so it’s unclear if this change is due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic or other complications in the film’s production.
We’ll post more updates as we hear more about the movie in the future. Stay tuned.
[UPDATE: The official movie trailer has dropped – confirming that the film will instead release in December 2020. Read more details here]
