Famitsu: Monster Hunter Rise Has Sold Over 1.3 Million Units In Japan In Its First Week

Famitsu has published its weekly sales estimates for videogame hardware and software sales, revealing more about how well Monster Hunter Rise is performing in its home country of Japan.

According to its latest figures, Monster Hunter Rise has sold around 1, 302,132 copies at retail in Japan (1.3 million), and was the top selling videogame in Japan for the week. In second place was Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and the Switch version of The Quintessential Quintuplets ff.

Moving on the hardware, it seems the release of Monster Hunter Rise may have contributed to a boost in Switch hardware sales. The Switch and Switch Lite sold around 267,497 units combined, outselling the both variants of the PS5 for the week.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Monster Hunter Rise is shaping up to be a big hit for the Switch in Japan, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments.
