Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge Animated Film Will Be Rated R

Earlier this month, Warner Bros. Animation revealed that Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge was now in production. We’ve not had any details about the film’s contents so far, but it looks like fans of the series’ blood and gore might be in for a treat!

Ed Boon, series creator and the film’s creative consultant, has confirmed via Twitter that the animated movie will have an ‘R’ rating (i.e. restricted). To illustrate this, he likened the upcoming movie to previous Warner Bros. animations such as the Killing Joke and Joker films!

At the very least, it looks like the team behind the movie won’t be under any restrictions to keep it family-friendly. We’ll report back if we hear more in the future!
