Netflix is longer available for new users to download on the last Nintendo systems to offer the service.
Say good-bye to Queen’s Gambit, Avatar: the Last Airbender, and any other Netflix exclusive series. Nintendo support announced that Netflix will no longer be available for download on the Wii U and 3DS starting this year. Old users can still re-download them but the service will end completely in six months.
The Netflix app was removed from Nintendo eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS Family systems on Dec 31st, 2020. They are no longer available for new users to download. It is possible for existing users to re-download these applications at this time. Service for both applications will be discontinued on June 30th, 2021. Thank you for your support of these applications over the years.
This means that there are zero Nintendo consoles that let players watch Netflix since the Nintendo Switch has still not received the service after almost 4 years. So does this mean the streaming service will finally come to the Switch? We’ll have to stay tuned.
