As promised, Level-5 has shared some new details about the upcoming new game in the Inazuma Eleven series, which has been in development since 2018.
Firstly, the game has been renamed to Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes, which brings with it a number of changes to the game’s storyline. The new main story will revolve around the game’s new hero Unmei Sasanami forming a new soccer club at his school in Nagasaki with a cast of brand new characters. The ability to recruit characters from past Inazuma Eleven titles has been shifted to a separate Chronicle mode, presumably to keep story mode’s focus on the new cast.
Secondly, Level-5 also detailed some changes to the gameplay, mainly adding more control and display options. Players on all platforms will be able to choose between horizontal and vertical play fields, with undocked Switches having a screen orientation option. The Switch will also reportedly have the “most versatile” control scheme, allowing players to use both a controller and the touchscreen. The game was also reiterated to be coming to Switch, PS4, as well as Android and iOS.
At the time of this writing, further news about a release date has yet to be shared, but Level-5 has stated that more news will come in Winter 2022. In the meantime, you can check out the game’s new official website here.
