Niantic product manager Matt Slemon recently gave an interview to Polygon discussing about where he sees Pokemon GO in the next five years.
According to Slemon, Niantic has fulfilled almost every single feature they promised to roll out for Pokemon GO at launch. These include trading and PVP. More features are coming in the near future.
Slemon believes Pokemon GO will receive less-traditional Pokemon features with a Pokemon GO spin. He explained these features will show how Pokemon GO is an AR game than simply a Pokemon game.
The product manager also revealed Niantic has crafted long term plans for Pokemon GO which could be adjusted with changes along the way. They will take into account the opportunities, technology, and feedback from players.
Slemon says they already have a vision of where to take Pokemon GO in the next 5 years, but they are still very open to finding new ideas to energize their roadmap.
